REGARDING PASSAGE OF HOUSE REPUBLICAN CONTINUING RESOLUTION
WASHINGTON, DC – The following is a first-person statement from Congressman Wm. Lacy Clay (D) Missouri in reaction to today’s passage of a highly partisan House Republican Continuing Resolution.
“Today, House Republicans applauded their passage of a Tea Party inspired Continuing Resolution that lays the path for a government shutdown, makes defaulting on our national debt more likely, and puts insurance companies back in charge of our healthcare. So the question I would ask them is just this, what exactly were they celebrating…other than their own irresponsibility?”
