"Tonight, President Obama laid out a smart, energetic agenda that will restore more working families to economic security.  The President’s proposals will lift up the many, instead of just preserving economic privilege for the very few. 

I support his efforts to reform the tax code and open the doors of higher education to all, while continuing to protect our historic progress in access to affordable healthcare and a cleaner environment.

The President’s proposals provide a real opportunity to move our country forward with common sense ideas that deserve bipartisan support.  I’m hopeful that the Republican majority will seize this opportunity to work with us for the common good.”
